Memorial Gym Parking
The U of I Swim Center, Physical Education Building (PEB) and Memorial Gym are located at the southwest corner of the pedestrian mall, our campus’ core. Attracting thousands of athletes, fans, community members, performers, students, staff and faculty year-round, this epicenter of activity is always buzzing. While most Vandals arrive by foot or bicycle, there is significant pressure on the on-site parking lot, Gold Lot 39. Students, staff and faculty do a remarkable job coordinating events to distribute demand as evenly as possible but it’s important to know your options if you plan on visiting!
Swim Center
The Swim Center hosts swim lessons, American Red Cross training and certification courses, recreational swimming and other events. As is true with many venues on the U of I campus, especially those located on the campus’ central pedestrian mall, immediately-adjacent parking is limited and often shared by several venues. Community members should review the Community Parking Guide. Special events like swim meets usually have event-specific parking arrangements announced by event organizers. Physical Education Building (PEB)
Athletic, academic, artistic and community activities all take place in the PEB, sometimes simultaneously. Community members participating in Festival Dance activities, open gym, evening courses, and other activities should review the Community Parking Guide. If you’re visiting the PEB for a special event, there may be special parking arrangements in place. Check with the event organizer, the “Parking Updates and Closures” list at the bottom of our homepage, and/or contact us at 208-885-6424 or parking@uidaho.edu! If there aren’t special parking arrangements for your particular event, please review the Community Parking Guide. Vandals with U of I parking permits should follow the usual parking procedures and call us if there are any questions!
Memorial Gym
Vandal basketball and volleyball games, along with state gymnastic meets and regional basketball tournaments regularly pack our 2,500-seat Memorial Gymnasium with cheering fans, friends and family members. Volleyball and basketball games reserve Gold Lot 39 immediately prior to and throughout the event.
