Supervisor Training Modules
In addition to the Annual Employee Required Training course, supervisors and managers must complete additional training within 30 days of hire or start date with new responsibilities.
A supervisor is defined as “anyone supervising (having authority to undertake or recommend a tangible employment action and/or direct an employee’s work activities) an employee, but include department and program heads (e.g., Principal Investigators) even if they do not supervise people directly.
Periodic Supervisor Required Training Refreshers will be released.
Note: Supervisors are also required to take the training modules designated for all employees.
HR Issues for Supervisors
- Mandatory: Yes
- New Hires/Supervisors: Within 30 days of hire or start date with new responsibilities
- Continuing Supervisors: Periodic Refresher
- Time Commitment/Format: 1 hour online
Effective Performance Management and Performance Evaluations
- Mandatory: Yes; supervisors who oversee benefit-eligible employees must complete in addition to HR Issues for Supervisors
- New Hires/Supervisors: Within 30 days of hire or start date with new responsibilities
- Continuing Supervisors: Periodic Refresher
- Time Commitment/Format: 1 hour live
Minimizing Unconscious Bias on Committees
- Mandatory: Yes
- New Hires/Supervisors: Within 30 days of hire or start date with new responsibilities
- Continuing Supervisors: Every 3 years
- Time Commitment/Format: 20 minutes online
U of I Search Committee Training
- Mandatory: Yes
- New Hires/Supervisors: Within 30 days of hire or start date with new responsibilities
- Continuing Supervisors: Every 3 years
- Time Commitment/Format: 20 minutes online
