Nontraditional Students
What is a Nontraditional Student?
Are you an incoming University of Idaho undergraduate student who is:
- Older than 23
- A parent
- Married
- Attending UI after taking a break before or during your university education
- The primary care giver of elderly parents
- A veteran of the US armed forces
If so, you belong to a significant segment of our student population. An estimated 20-40 percent of our undergraduate students are non-traditional learners.
Almost all nontraditional students are pursuing their education on top of demands outside the classroom. Many of our students are raising children, working while in college, serving in the military and taking care of family.
The University of Idaho is committed to working with these students to ensure success in both their academic and personal careers. U of I provides a range of services designed to meet your needs.
