Every day we live with and deal with insects in some manner. Most of us find them and
simply wonder what they are. Often, they are found as pests in our lawns, flowers, shrubs,
crops, pets, etc. Others have potentially harmful stings and pose minor to serious health
threats. When confronted with identifying the various species of insects, spiders, and
other arthropods, we can become overwhelmed with the possibilities and not know where to
start.
These insect identification guides have been developed to help you determine which
insect or arthropod you have found. We have included a small amount of information about
them but more complete references must be sought in order to obtain details of life
history, management techniques, etc. The most commonly found species(or representative
species)and life stage have been included wherever possible.
