Step 2: Gaining Interdisciplinary Breadth and Depth
Cutting Edge Core Curriculum
There are only three core courses required of all students, each of which is a critical component to our interdisciplinary degree. These courses provide a shared educational foundation to our students, and provide the common language and understanding critical to interdisciplinary research. The three courses are Computational Biology (CS 515), Molecular Evolution (Biol 522), and Mathematical Genetics (Math 563). These courses provide the interdisciplinary framework necessary for you to focus your program around your developing interests.
Personalizing your Degree by Choosing a Focus Area
We offer a wide selection of depth courses from which to choose that provide rigorous training while meeting individual needs.
You design your curriculum around one of the two focus areas: computer sciences/mathematical sciences or biological sciences. The M.S. Program Curriculum and Ph.D. Program Curriculum pages can help you personalize degree.
