Physical Wellness Resources
As a University of Idaho employee, you have access to on-campus resources and additional programs through your employee benefit plan to support you on your journey to good health.
Diabetes Prevention
If you or a family member are at high risk of developing diabetes, you may be eligible to participate in a one-year health program at no cost. Programs meet regularly for 16 weeks, followed by check-ins for the rest of the year. Choose from an array of online or in-person programs and make lasting lifestyle changes that significantly reduce your risk of developing diabetes. Most programs include lifestyle coaching, weekly activities and a small support group. Open to employees and dependents on a university medical plan. Find out if you're eligible.
Virtual Physical Therapy (MSK+)
Blue Cross of Idaho and Hinge Health offer convenient treatment options for both chronic and acute musculoskeletal conditions. Connect online with a clinician or physical therapist who will guide you through virtual physical therapy and helpful lifestyle changes in the comfort of your home. If your condition requires surgery or another in-person intervention, MSK+ will provide referrals and help connect you with resources. Open to employees and eligible dependents on a university medical plan.
To get started, visit Hinge Health or email caremanagement@bcidaho.com. You can also watch an intro to the Hinge Health program.
Tobacco Cessation
Employees enrolled in a university health plan are eligible for free nicotine replacement therapy. Products are covered through the prescription drug plans. Simply obtain a prescription from your healthcare provider and have it filled at any in-network pharmacy. Learn more about local tobacco cessation resources.
Tobacco cessation assistance is also available through the Employee Assistance Program by calling 800-999-1077 or online at EAPHelplink.com. Use code UI1.
