To prepare for these opportunities, Vandals can rely on our team for expert assistance in career assessments, major exploration, coaching, resumes, interview preparation and salary negotiations.

Handshake
Discover your dream career by exploring job listings on Handshake, the University of Idaho’s virtual job board that connects students and alumni with potential employers. This is your hub for locating internships, on-campus jobs, off-campus jobs and paid cooperative education programs.
Current students may log in to Handshake using University of Idaho username and password credentials. Alumni follow different steps to access Handshake and must review login instructions by selecting “Alumni and Former Students.”

Career Fairs and Networking Nights
U of I regularly holds two key networking event types throughout the year — Networking Nights and Career Fairs — to support current students and alumni.
- Career Fairs: Held twice a year both in-person and virtually, this event brings together hundreds of renowned organizations seeking to recruit current U of I students and alumni. To see which employers are attending your upcoming Career Fair, visit Handshake.
- Networking Nights: These events are college-specific and held the night before each Career Fair, creating the opportunity to more closely connect with potential employers in your prospective fields.

Take advantage of 24/7 access through Big Interview to learn interview strategies and practice your communication skills.
Major and Career Assessments
Looking to find U of I majors or careers that are compatible with your unique skills and interests? Career Services offers the following:
- Career Explorer: A 30-minute assessment to help you discover careers that align with your personality and goals.
- Focus 2: A customizable planning system that begins by assessing your personality, skills, and interests to match you with majors and a variety of careers. Once you finish the assessment, you can develop an action plan to help you map your future.
