Facilities

Each student will have access to a variety of copiers/printers. There is a student computer and printer located in Joe’s Corner (third floor), hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Check with your department as you may also have access to a department printer.

Please remember that there is a 250 page limit on printing each semester, regardless of where you print.

Kitchens for common use are found on floors two and three of the IWC building. They are equipped with refrigerators, microwave ovens and dishwashers. Please be sure to practice good housekeeping when using the kitchens.

As a U of I student, you have access to valuable electronic and print resources from the university’s library and the access to personalized reference assistance from one of the librarians. If you have questions about accessing information resources from off-campus in print and electronic formats, are interested in information resources pertinent to your discipline, or have general research questions, feel free to contact the Library reference desk at 208-885-6584.

University of Idaho Boise students are able to use all electronic resources from the Moscow campus’s library by visiting the library’s website and logging in with your Vandal email address and password. For more information about using the library from off-campus, view the U of I library distance education guide.

Other options

There are numerous public libraries located throughout Boise and the surrounding cities.  For locations, hours and additional information visit the Boise public library website.

The Albertsons Library at Boise State University is open to the public.  Their most current hours and holiday closures can be found online.

Lounge areas for common use are found at the Idaho Water Center on floors 1–5. Additionally, Joe’s Corner is a space set aside for student use at the end of the south hallway on the third floor.

A New Mothers’ Room is available in the Idaho Water Center building for faculty, staff and students. Contact U of I Boise Operations at uibops@uidaho.edu to learn about location and access to the room.

Each department will discuss your work space with you and provide keys and/or access to your assigned space.

Full-time students have access to BSU Campus Recreation facilities at 1515 University Drive. BSU sells passes to U of I students at the Service Desk in the Student Recreation Center for the duration of terms that coincide with those for BSU students. The student cost for campus recreation passes is set each year in the summer to be in effect for the new academic year beginning with the fall semester. (In addition to the out-of-pocket charge paid by the student, the University of Idaho makes a payment to BSU equivalent to the recreation fee paid by every full-time University of Idaho student.)

Rates have historically been approximately $60 per semester.

U of I students are required to present their current VandalCard at the time of purchase. Students are required to provide their current address, phone number and email address to BSU Campus Recreation and sign a waiver of liability, assumption of risk and indemnity agreement. Learn more about the facilities and recreational opportunities at BSU.

You can request a classroom, seminar room or Legacy Pointe. Review the room availability before requesting the room. Consult with your department for fee information. Classrooms and seminar rooms offer multimedia resource options and varying seating spaces depending on the specific room. Learn about available classrooms and other rooms or request your room.
