Session Guidelines

University of Idaho brand productions are key to showing the Vandal Family in web, print, digital and beyond. Our goal is to gather authentic, high-quality photos and videos of the U of I campus and students to share in our marketing and informational materials.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering as a student model.

Students are usually assigned to 1-hour shifts. We know you are busy and value your time. Let us know what works for your schedule and we will accommodate.

If you can’t make the dates for this shoot, but would like to take part in the future, reach out and we will put you on a list for future opportunities.

For a candid or casual on-location photo session, wear clothing that would typically be worn in that venue. Here is a list of suggestions:

  • Wear solid colored clothing, avoid white.
  • Vandal gear featuring the university colors and logo is encouraged.
  • Avoid clothing with names of or endorsements for outside businesses or institutions.
  • Bring more than one outfit (optional)

Students should also bring items appropriate to the venue — books, notebooks, book bags, sports gear and/or musical instruments.

You’ll hang out with other students in various settings: you might be sitting or walking or doing a different planned activity. You’ll just need to talk and act naturally. No need to prepare any “top model” poses ahead of time. Just relax and have fun.

Sample Photos

Here’s a collection of photos from other brand photo shoots to give you an idea of the type of photos we’re gathering. Note the casual and authentic moments.
