Roberto Capecci is a landscape designer and teacher in landscape architecture. Since 2000, he has been a member of the Land-I archicolture, co-founded with Raffaella Sini and Marco Antonini. In Singapore, he was a design director at the landscape architecture firm Salad Dressing. From 2012 to 2016, Roberto was a landscape architecture lecturer at Singapore’s Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.
He has been faculty adjunct member at the Landscape Architecture program of the University of Idaho (since 2017), and Washington State University (since 2021), and he is currently Clinical Assistant Professor at the U of I Landscape Architecture program.
Roberto’s pedagogy and scholarship reflect his professional practice as a designer. His focus is on Conceptual Landscape Design, exploring the narrow space between Art, Architecture and Landscape. Led by the need to discover, understand and reinterpret the identity of places, his research and practice uses an artistic approach as medium to translate concepts into spaces that talk about the uniqueness of a specific context. In design studios, he explores with students experimental approaches in design with landscape installations and temporary urbanism, community collaborations and service-learning projects.
