Student Life

There are many opportunities to get involved at U of I and in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. Student clubs offer students a great chance to build relationships with fellow students and network with professors and industry leaders. Clubs specifically related to the Department of Soil and Water Systems include the Agricultural Systems Management Club, Hydroponics Club, the Plant and Soil Science Club and the Soil Stewards.

Students involved in extracurricular activities have the opportunity to travel, earn more scholarships and gain references from faculty. Students also develop leadership, communication and teamwork skills and receive professional experiences as they participate in club events and attend conventions and meetings within the industry.
