Board of Directors
The Western Rural Development Center’s Board of Directors (WBOD) plays a pivotal role in guiding the strategic direction and ensuring the effective operation of our center. It comprises representatives from state Cooperative Extension Services, state agricultural experiment stations (AES) and other key stakeholders involved in Title V programs within the Western region. The board is selected by the Western Association of Agricultural Experiment Station Directors (WAAESD) and the Western Extension Director Association (WEDA).
The diverse composition of the WBOD reflects our commitment to inclusivity and collaboration. It brings together expertise from various fields and perspectives to inform decision-making processes. Through their collective knowledge and experience, board members provide invaluable insights into the unique challenges and opportunities facing rural communities across our region.
The director closely collaborates with the WBOD to create the Annual Plan of Work for the region. They ensure that the initiatives align with regional priorities and be responsive to the evolving needs of stakeholders. The WBOD plays a crucial role in providing guidance, support and accountability to ensure the success of the center's endeavors and the achievement of our mission. By encouraging open communication, collaboration and transparency, the WBOD facilitates the effective execution of the mission to drive positive change and promote sustainable rural development.
As stewards of our center's vision and values, the WBOD plays an integral role in shaping the future of rural communities within our region. Their dedication and leadership empower our center to make meaningful contributions toward building stronger, more resilient communities for generations to come.
