Building & Maintaining Relationships

Public relations students learn how to create and sustain relationships between organizations (corporations, government agencies and nonprofit groups) and their constituencies. The PR degree goes beyond a general communications degree with courses focusing on PR writing and production, strategic communication strategies and media campaign management. After graduation, public relations professionals work as writers, social media managers, promotions and events planners, lobbyists and consultants. With a PR degree, students obtain the skills highly sought after by employers including crafting media messages, strategic and social media planning and working with the news media.
