The McClure Center
The Martin Institute partners with the University of Idaho’s James A. and Louise McClure Center for Public Policy Research. The McClure Center was launched in 2007, and has become Idaho's most trusted and preeminent public policy research entity.
Both James and Louise McClure were students and lifelong friends of Boyd Martin. Throughout Senator McClure’s tenure in office, he embodied a legacy of thoughtful pursuit of sound public policy particularly as it impacts Idaho, and that legacy continues in today’s McClure Center. This approach mirrors what Boyd and Grace Martin set out to do for international issues, and their friendship suggested the two entities should partner in some way.
The result is the co-funded Martin-McClure Student Ambassadorship, which engages a student from the Martin Institute to work with McClure Center staff on a topic in Idaho public policy that interests the international community.
