Marta Boris Tarré is originally from Barcelona, Spain. She obtained her Ph.D. in romance languages, Iberian focus from University of Alabama in 2012. Since then, she has worked at the University of Idaho. She was promoted to associate professor of Spanish in 2018.
Her main research areas are religious conversions to Islam, Spanish for the professions and human trafficking for sexual exploitation. She has publications in all these areas.
