Unleashing Joy: "Go, Dog. Go!" Takes to the Stage at U of I

Step into a world of colorful canines and boundless imagination as the University of Idaho Department of Theatre Arts proudly presents "Go, Dog. Go!" – a whimsical musical play adapted from the beloved book by P.D. Eastman.

Fun for the Whole Family

"Go, Dog. Go!" is a delightful journey through a vibrant world, celebrating friendship, kindness, and the joy of work and play. Adapted for the stage by Steven Dietz and Allison Gregory with music by Michael Koerner, this production promises to captivate both children and adults alike with its lively characters and simple yet engaging storyline. From dogs on skates to dogs on scooters and daring doggy antics throughout, the 90-minute play encourages creativity and fosters a sense of wonder, making it the perfect experience for the entire family.

Kate Pemberton, director of “’Go, Dog. Go!’ says the show has been an absolute delight to work on.

“It’s full of laughter and imagination, and delights in the simplicity and joy of seemingly ordinary things,” she said.

“It will be a gift to the children of our community to get to experience live theater of this quality that is truly for them. But adults will also be harkened back to the wonder of childhood through this fantastical story,” Pemberton said.

Celebrating the Joyous Simplicity of the World Around Us

Published in 1961, Eastman's timeless tale has transcended generations, and as “Go, Dog. Go!” transitions to the Fagerbakke stage it brings even more joy to audiences and celebrates the joyous simplicity of the world around us.
