Healthy Holiday Challenge
University of Idaho students and employees can join the Healthy Holiday Challenge to give yourself the gift of healthier habits this year. This six-week challenge is meant to be a little motivation to stay focused on personal movement goals through the holiday and break season!
Healthy Holiday Challenge dates: Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024 - Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025
Registration is required to participate; teams may register on a rolling basis throughout the challenge.
About the Healthy Holiday Challenge
Flurries – I rarely engage in physical activity and this challenge will encourage me to begin movement.
Snowbursts – I am physically active and this challenge will encourage me to increase my movement.
Blizzards – I am competitive and am very active most days.
Teams can consist of three to six people. Designate a team captain and team captains will register team members (name and email address). Once the team has registered, the team captain will send members a link to log their weekly activity.
To log daily activity, remember that you get one point per 15 consecutive minutes of physical activity (stretching, running, biking, yoga, shoveling snow, yard work, walking your dog, etc). A maximum of 8 points per day is allowed. Each week will have up to 3 bonus points up for grabs.
Weekly points need to be submitted by noon Pacific time, every Tuesday of the following week. Points for Week 5 will have an extra week to be submitted and must be submitted by Tuesday, Jan. 2.
Details on how to log points will be shared after registration.
Weekly Prizes
- Teams who have had all members submit their points for that week will be entered into a weekly drawing. Each team member will win a prize from Tri-State Outfitters if their team is selected.
End of Challenge Prizes
- Team members of the team with the most points in each division will all win a grand prize of a T-shirt from the VandalStore.
- Individuals who have entered points every week will be entered into a drawing for a variety of prizes.
The best prize of all is having fun while working toward your personal movement goals!
