  • Must have a current nationally accredited certification in personal training (ex: ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM, etc.).

Basic Function and Responsibility:

Officiate/Referee intramural sports competitions that are assigned. Sports may include:

  • Flag Football
  • Basketball
  • Soccer
  • Wrestling
  • Dodgeball

  • Ultimate Frisbee

  • Floor Hockey
  • Pickleball
  • Badminton

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work on average 2 to 4 hours/week.
  • Attend all required meetings and clinics, which are conducted in each sport.
  • Maintain minimum performance ratings according to completed evaluations.
  • Prepare properly for all scheduled games.
  • Be at scheduled officiating site in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct yourself professionally at all times.
  • Assist the Recreation & Wellbeing office in other areas as assigned.

Supervision Received

  • Direct supervision will be received from the Director of Intramural Sports, Intramural Grad Assistant, and Intramural Supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a student enrolled at the University Of Idaho and be at least 18 years old.
  • Background or interest in recreational events with prior officiating experience is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to learn.

Starting Wage

The starting wage for this position is $9.50 an hour.

Job Duties

Vandal Kids Camp Counselors will be responsible for the daily operation of the Kids Camp for Recreation and Well-being. Counselors will be responsible for an assigned group of children ages ranging between 6-11. Counselors will help plan, organize, implement and lead age-appropriate activities. Activities generally include arts and crafts, sports, nature, games and elements of education. Duties include working shifts that are scheduled, checking in and out camp participants, supervising children, overseeing transitions to and from scheduled events and lessons, participating in group exercises and helping facilitate activities throughout the day. Camp counselors will also be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of campers. The ideal candidate would be an excellent multi-tasker with a genuine passion for working with young individuals. Applicants should be patient, self-motivated and confident in their abilities to assist and lead campers through each week. Dates of employment: Monday – Friday from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the dates of May 13-17, 2024 for training week and then June 10 to July 26, 2024.

Job Requirements

Position Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work mornings, days and early evenings.
  • Must work up to 35-40 hours each week scheduled.
  • Abide by the University of Idaho student Code of Conduct.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Due to the nature of this position you must be 21 years of age to apply.

Graduate Support Assistant for University of Idaho Outdoor Program

Relation to Education Program
This graduate support assistantship will provide the candidate with a multitude of relatable administrative, personnel management and leadership skills, including but not limited to: conflict management; receiving and sharing constructive feedback with others; evaluating student/employee performance; communicating with fellow employees, student employees and participants; recruiting, hiring, scheduling, training and supervising staff; programming facilitation; overnight trip management; risk management; judgment and decision making; financial management and budget planning; program evaluation and assessment. It will also provide the candidate with the opportunity to gain the confidence and competence to work in the outdoor recreation field professionally, and specifically supports the University of Idaho and Student Affairs strategic plans. This position will assist with promotional and publicity efforts for various Recreation and Wellbeing events and promoting brand identity for the 2024-2025 academic year. They will develop skills in advertising, graphic design, social media, photography, videography and event planning. This position reports to the Marketing and Special Events Coordinator or Graduate Support Assistant and works closely with staff from various programs within Recreation and Wellbeing. Hours worked will typically be 10 per week depending on event schedule, contingent upon funding.

Job Duties

  • Utilizing and maintaining social media platforms to connect and engage students.
  • Take photos and video footage at various RecWell events.
  • Promote Recreation and Wellbeing events and programs throughout campus via flyering, tabling and more.
  • Assist with various special events (i.e. Late Night at the Rec events, 5K fun runs, recruiting events, etc.).

Job Requirements

  • Ability to communicate professionally in writing and verbally; organize paperwork and materials for events.
  • Knowledge of Recreation and Wellbeing events and programs.
  • Knowledge of and experience utilizing social media.
  • Experience with design programs/software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Canva.
