QPR Suicide Prevention
QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer. It is an evidenced-based, 1.5 hour training program to help faculty, staff and students respond to someone in a mental health crisis and thinking about suicide.
Participants will learn how to:
- Recognize the warning signs of suicide
- Offer hope
- Get help and save a life
It is recommended to wait at least six months after a loss of loved one before taking a training. However, readiness for training may vary from person to person, and this training maybe difficult for those with experiences surrounding suicide and mental health concerns.
