Fire Safety Inspections
What We Do
EHS performs periodic fire safety inspections of campus facilities to ensure that buildings and operations comply with state fire codes and are safe for occupancy. EHS also assists the State Fire Marshal by conducting follow-up inspections to evaluate the status of corrective actions.
What You Need to Do
Each department is responsible for correcting code violations that are reported to departmental personnel by EHS. Departments must forward corrective action reports to EHS within the time frame specified in the notice.
It is recommended that individual departments conduct self-inspections on a monthly basis to ensure that conditions are maintained in a safe manner. You are encouraged to use our Self-Inspection Checklist for this type of audit.
