Ergonomics
What We Do
The ergonomics program here at the University of Idaho is provided to assist in helping employees recognize and correct unsafe working positions. Our team will help you evaluate your workspace and work with you to develop a more ergonomically correct space that will help to minimize repetitive motion injuries.
We can offer suggestions on what products to purchase to enhance your workstation, and share the best practices with you so that you are informed about the proper use of your equipment, be it office workspace or any other space on campus.
What You Can Do
Because the workplace can be a changing environment, it is important to take the time complete a Job Hazard Analysis to identify any potential hazards and apply administrative controls to mitigate any problems that are identified. We can then determine if other measures need to be taken to mitigate any other movement injury potential. Any time you feel aches or pains you should evaluate your situation and try to determine where the potential cause may be coming from. A well-rounded approach to health and wellness will help in your efforts to find ergonomic comfort. You can also contact our office at safety@uidaho.edu to schedule an ergonomics evaluation.
