Dr. Arthur Maxwell Taylor Excellence in Diversity Award

Purpose: To celebrate contributions that promote greater inclusion of all people in our campus community and promote understanding and recognition of diversity in educational, service, and outreach opportunities.

The Dr. Arthur Maxwell Taylor Excellence in Diversity Award is named in honor of Dr. Arthur (Art) Taylor, the Indigenous Affairs Officer of the University of Idaho who passed away suddenly in 2013. Art worked tirelessly to promote strong relationships between the University of Idaho and many tribal communities throughout the Pacific Northwest. He was known as a true champion of diversity. He was deeply respected for his academic research and teaching as well as his great rapport with students. He is also well remembered for his humor and infectious laugh. Art is greatly missed but his legacy to the University of Idaho continues on in this award.
