How We Will Address the Issue

Our team was developed to address community concerns relating to culture and climate and incidents of prejudice and intolerance by:

• Assessing the campus climate;
• Providing proactive educational programming; and
• Responding by providing support and referrals to the individual(s) impacted by prejudice and intolerance.

If you are in a position to play a supporting role, keep in mind that victims/targets of hate typically have 3 essential and immediate needs: the need to feel safe, the need to be heard and the need to know what happens next. Do what you can to create safety, offer empathy and then explore and communicate action steps.
