IDEAS Student Research Symposium
Annually the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences hosts a virtual live event showcasing the research, scholarship and creative works of EHHS students.
The GSAC Dissertation Award supports EHHS doctoral (EdD/PhD) students in their journey toward dissertation. The award funding is to contribute funds toward doctoral students’ dissertation and related program expectations. Funding requests must be related to the prelim, proposal or dissertation. Approved activities or items could include publication fees and open access charges, equipment, participant compensation, travel to conferences, etc.
There are two funding cycles. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each cycle will award up to a total of $2,000 with a maximum single award not to exceed $500. Once funding runs out for an award cycle, the application submission will close.
Award Cycle #1: July 1 – December 31
Award Cycle #2: January 1 – June 31
To apply, you will need to provide your requested funding amount, rationale for funding request and a faculty letter of support specifically outlining how the funds would support your progress toward your dissertation.

Tricia has a B.S. in Business and Management from the University of Redlands and an MBA from Western Governor's University. She is a part-time, online student earning her Ph.D. in Education, with an emphasis in Adult, Organizational Learning and Leadership (AOLL). Her current research focus is on the value of the AOLL Research Apprenticeship Program for students and faculty. Her consulting career focuses on strategic advisement to executives and companies who wish to improve well-being in their part of the world. When not working or studying, she enjoys spending time with family, hiking, and reading.

Jake has a B.S. in Business Management, postgraduate certificates in Workplace Performance Improvement and Instructional Design, and an M.S. in Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning from Boise State University. He is in his 2nd year of the Adult, Organizational Learning and Leadership (AOLL) Ph.D. program. His current research focuses on how leadership impacts morale and performance in America's manufacturing and logistics workforces as it pertains to process automation. In his spare time, he loves to camp, hike, and spend as much time as possible with his wife and three sons.

Beth has a B.A. in English and in Philosophy, a secondary teaching certification, and an M.S. in Family and Consumer Sciences from University of Idaho. They are a full-time Ph.D. student in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Career & Technical Education (CTE). Their current research explores high school CTE students' STEM identities and their perceptions of diversity in STEM fields. They also work as a Case Manager in the U of I Dean of Students Office. In their free time, they hang out with their two pups, play games, and try to sneak in some naps. They look forward to serving you all this upcoming year.

Maxx is a 3rd Year Exercise Science Ph.D. student in the Movement Science Department. You can find him running the trails on Moscow Mountain or looking for Bigfoot in his free time.

Masters Representative 2023-2024
Gena is in her final year as a master’s student in the Movement Science department. In addition to being the Masters Representative, she is also the EHHS GPSA representative, works as a nutrition intern for U of I athletics, is a TA in the Movement Science department, and helps conduct research in the Human Performance Lab. In her free time, you can find her hanging in her hammock, serving drinks at Hunga Dunga, or playing with her GSD, Cleopatra.

Shelbi has a B.S. in exercise, sport, and health science as well as a minor in psychology. She is currently pursuing a major in athletic training from the University of Idaho as well. She the president of the Athletic Training Student Organization Board (ATSO) as well as a representative for the Graduate Student Association Committee (GSAC). In her free time, she loves to hike, fish, and enjoy all the outdoors northern Idaho has to offer.

Ann Brown graduated from the Florida State University in 2016 with her doctorate in exercise physiology with a research focus in sports nutrition. Additionally, while completing her doctorate she completed her didactic program in dietetics and became a certified sports nutritionist (CISSN). Prior to moving to Florida she studied Biology at Seattle University all while being a member of a pre-professional dance company. While completing her doctoral work she collaborated on and led nutrition interventions in bariatric and athletic populations. Brown is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and International Society for Sports Nutrition. Her research plan is to continue to help optimize athletic performance, alter metabolism and body composition, and improve overall health and wellness through exercise and nutrition.
