Clifford S. Swanson, Ph.D.

Clifford received his Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he worked on a variety of different projects related to water quality dynamics including the dynamics of the drinking water microbiome and the pollution sources that lead to the impairment of surface water bodies. At the University of Idaho, his research seeks to employ the use of advanced chemical analysis and molecular biological tools to create a deep understanding of the microbial water quality characteristics of natural and engineered water systems.
