Attend EXPO Engineering the Future
Explore projects that push the boundaries of science and technology during University of Idaho's College of Engineering’s nationally recognized Engineering Design EXPO.
EXPO Engineering the Future is open to the public and welcomes K-12 and community college students, teachers, and educators to explore industry-sponsored projects designed by current U of I students in the college’s Interdisciplinary Capstone Design Program, ranked top seven in the nation for infusing real-world experiences into engineering education.
Individual, Classroom and Group Registration
K-12 and community college students and their families, teachers, educators and their classrooms are invited to attend EXPO. Participation is free.

Kickoff EXPO with welcome messages from College of Engineering Dean Suzie Long and special guests
9 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - View EXPO Projects | ICCU Arena
Explore innovative and interactive projects that push the boundaries of science and technology and learn how U of I students are working together to solve real-world problems.
9 a.m. -11:30 a.m. - STEM Activity Carnival | ICCU Practice Court
Participate in hands-on activities and explore engineering concepts with current U of I engineering clubs and competition teams.
12:00 - 12:30 p.m. - Lunch at ICCU Arena
12:30-1:15 p.m. - Keynote Speaker: SEL President David Whitehead
David Whitehead was recently named president of global energy protection leader Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories. With 30 years of career experience at SEL starting as a hardware engineer, David shares his personal and professional story of inspiration and teamwork, working alongside inventors at SEL to build systems that protect, automate, and control energy infrastructure around the world.
