Personal Stories

Our videos highlight the personal stories of farmers who have faced the unique challenges of life on the land. In these videos, they share their journeys through the ups and downs of farming, shedding light on the pressures they’ve encountered and how they’ve navigated through difficult times. Whether it’s the unpredictability of weather, financial strain or the emotional toll of managing a farm, their experiences provide insight into the realities of farming today. We hope their stories offer comfort, understanding and a sense of solidarity to others in the farming community.

David and Makayla Callister share how a shift away from farming led to heavy stress on their family. The Callister’s talk about their journey to understand mental health and the need to communicate to get through those tough times.

Scott Fuhriman is an Idaho farmer who has experienced multiple family tragedies. He talks about surviving grief and sorrow and how a chance encounter with a health professional helped Scott recognize depression and get help to move forward.

Fred Kaufman is the last person to ask to be in front of a camera or on social media, but he offered to tell his story if it helps others dealing with anxiety and panic attacks.
