Following completion of her bachelor's in family and consumer sciences education degree in 2006, Deanna was introduced to University of Idaho Extension as a FCS Extension assistant in Bonneville County (2008-2010). While she loved the work, its purpose and mission, she took a brief break to raise her family. After teaching FCS courses in the Department of Home and Family at BYU-Idaho (2019-2023), she excitedly returned to UI Extension in Jefferson County in 2024. Her focus for 2025 includes facilitating the Master Food Safety Advisor volunteer program, education on correct food preservation and food safety methods, youth financial literacy and 4-H youth development through food preparation and clothing construction day camps.
