A. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR, AND THE APPROVAL AND GRANTING OF, DEGREES. Degrees are granted in the name of the regents upon recommendation of the university faculty (the Faculty Senate acts for the university faculty in recommending candidates for earned degrees; the Commencement Committee acts for the university faculty in recommending candidates for degrees to be awarded honoris causa, see FSH 4930). Diplomas are printed with the signatures of the president of the regents, the president of the university, and the candidate’s academic dean after the registrar has certified that the candidate has fulfilled all graduation requirements.
B. FORWARDING OFFICIAL LIST OF DEGREES GRANTED TO THE STATE BOARD. Following commencement, a copy of the officially confirmed list of degrees granted is forwarded to the Office of the State Board of Education.
C. HONORS AT GRADUATION. Honors are awarded at graduation in accordance with the standards established by the faculty (see regulation K-1 in the catalog).
