One Night ‘Cry Havoc!’ Show Explores the Neurosis of War Through Shakespeare

November 02, 2022

MOSCOW, Idaho —  Using Shakespeare’s timeless words, and a few of his own, award-winning actor and veteran Stephan Wolfert leads an interactive journey recounting his experiences pre- and post-military in “Cry Havoc!”

The one-night-only show is at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at University of Idaho’s Forge Theatre, 404 Sweet Ave., Moscow.

Free tickets are available for active military, veterans and U of I students. Tickets cost $5-$25 for the public. Select tickets online.

Presented by Idaho Repertory Theatre (IRT), “Cry Havoc!” is a one-person play that unites veterans with civilians while exploring the societal neurosis of war. Wolfert brings the audience face-to-face with one of the most vexing problems: How do those leaving military service rejoin the civilian world?

“Told with sensitivity, humor and woven together with the Bard’s wit, this play will engage your senses, fire your imagination and make you think and feel about this difficult subject,” said Robert Caisley, producing artistic director of IRT.

The 75-minute play "Cry Havoc!" contains depictions of war, violence and strong language. It also contains humor, vulnerability and hope. Seating is limited.
