Volunteers Needed for Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival 2023

March 10, 2023

MOSCOW, Idaho — Since the 1960s, the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival has brought jazz masters together with elementary, middle school, high school and college students at University of Idaho to share and celebrate jazz as a true American art form.

Community members and U of I students and employees with a passion for music and arts are invited to join the team of volunteers for the 56th Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival happening April 19-22 on U of I’s Moscow campus.

“It takes the support of hundreds of volunteers to make the festival happen,” Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival Manager Navin Chetri said. “It’s a great opportunity for volunteers to develop skills in the operations and management of a festival, enjoy the experience of great live jazz and be a part of a historical jazz festival in its 56th year.”

Volunteering offers an opportunity to develop skills in operating and managing a festival while enjoying live jazz.

Volunteers will receive one free concert ticket for every four hours of service. Register as a volunteer online by April 10. Find more information on the festival on the Jazz Fest webpage.
