Upcoming Policy Pub Speaker Series to Focus on Waste
February 14, 2024
BOISE, Idaho — The challenges waste presents to local, state and regional communities will be the subject of University of Idaho’s February Policy Pub 5-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Pengilly’s, 513 W. Main St., Boise.
The event is organized by U of I’s James A. and Louise McClure Center for Public Policy Research. Panelists from local government and local business will share perspectives on agriculture and food waste, solid waste and landfills and wastewater and water reuse. These experts will explore connections with human health, policy and risk management. A brief discussion will be followed by an interactive question-and-answer session.
Panelists are Herb Cantu, director of Ada County Solid Waste Management; Haley Falconer, environmental division senior manager for Boise Public Works; and Devin Rindlisbacher, production manager of Owyhee Produce. McClure Center Director Katherine Himes will moderate the discussion.
The event is free and open to the public. Reserve your ticket at bit.ly/policypub. The location is limited to those 21 and over.
Inspired by the McClures’ legacy, the McClure Center conducts evidence-based research, informs public dialogue and policy, facilitates collaborations and engages students in learning about public policy making.
Policy Pub is designed to engage Idahoans in stimulating conversations on a variety of policy topics.
