U of I’s Annual Vandal Giving Day Set for April 2-3
March 26, 2024
MOSCOW, Idaho — Members of the Vandal Family can join the fun and support University of Idaho students during Vandal Giving Day, April 2-3. The annual online giving event runs 1,889 minutes — honoring the year U of I was founded — and raises money for scholarships, academic and enrichment programs and research to benefit students at the university.
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. Pacific time Tuesday, April 2, and runs through 5:29 p.m. Wednesday, April 3. To encourage giving and participation, Vandal Giving Day uses gamification, live leaderboards and matches and challenges, which “unlock” pledges from other donors when a certain number or dollar amount of gifts come in. Donors have pledged more than $400,000 for matches and challenges this year.
Nearly all giving takes place online and is promoted on U of I social media channels as well as through email and the personal social media accounts of Vandal Giving Day ambassadors. Participants can visit the Vandal Giving Day website to explore the roughly 300 university programs represented. Alumni and other community supporters can also sign up to be a Vandal Giving Day Ambassador. Ambassadors who raise the largest number of gifts and largest dollar amount will be eligible for Vandal-related prizes.
In 2023, Vandal Giving Day raised $819,662 to support students and set a new University of Idaho record.
