MOSCOW, Idaho — More than 600 students are eligible to receive 687 degrees at University of Idaho’s 2024 Winter Commencement Saturday, Dec. 7, at the ICCU Arena in Moscow.
Ceremonies begin at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. More information about commencement is available at uidaho.edu/commencement.
The 621 eligible students who applied to graduate this fall applied for 16 associate degrees, 382 bachelor’s degrees, 188 master’s degrees, 33 doctoral degrees and six juris doctorates. Another 60 are receiving academic certificates and two are receiving specialist certificates.
“Vandals prove over and over they have the grit and passion to make a difference in the world,” U of I President Scott Green said. “We are excited to watch these newest Vandal alumni lead the charge in shaping the future.”
U of I has graduated about 134,295 students with more than 144,010 degrees since it opened in 1889.
Kathleen Duncan, a prolific national volunteer, entrepreneur and leader, will give the commencement address. She has served on the board of trustees of numerous institutions, including several universities, as well as the California Science Center, Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and the Doheny Eye Institute. Duncan is also involved in several other nonprofit groups. Duncan married a Vandal alum — Randy Luten ’83 — and has embraced the Vandal Family. She’s a regular at homecoming, Alumni Board rafting trips and Vandal ski trips.
The ceremonies will be livestreamed at uidaho.edu/live.
Clear bags are required, and attendees must pass through metal detectors, per the university’s security protocols for large events. No bags will be permitted for graduating students.
No weapons, including knives or firearms may enter the venue, per university policy. The rule applies to concealed carry permit holders.
U of I is a tobacco-free campus. Alcoholic beverages can only be consumed in approved locations on university property.
