Record-breaking Vandal Giving Day pushes University of Idaho past $500M milestone
April 08, 2025
MOSCOW, Idaho — Donors gave more than $1.28 million during University of Idaho’s Vandal Giving Day on April 1-2, beating the previous year’s record by almost $153,000, a 13.5% increase.
The 1,889-minute online fundraising event also helped the university surpass a historic milestone. Donations pushed the total raised for U of I’s Brave. Bold. Unstoppable. philanthropic campaign past its original $500 million goal — the largest amount raised for any fundraising campaign in Idaho history.
The Brave. Bold. Unstoppable. campaign began in 2015 and will continue through Dec. 31 to increase resources for scholarships, research and U of I programs statewide.
“This record-breaking achievement is a testament to the unstoppable momentum of the University of Idaho and the unwavering belief in our mission as Idaho’s land-grant institution,” U of I President Scott Green said. “Surpassing the largest philanthropic campaign goal in state history is more than a milestone — it’s a statement. Our Vandal Family has shown that when we invest in education, research and innovation, we are building a thriving Idaho and world for all.”
Vandal Giving Day also saw an increase in the number of gifts, from 2,324 in 2024 to 2,411 this year. Most gifts came from Idaho and Washington, with contributions from other states, France, Australia, Wales and Chile.
