How We Support You
New Faculty Support
The Monday through Wednesday the week prior to the fall semester, we welcome our new faculty to University of Idaho. New faculty orientation gets our colleagues situated within their roles at U of I to assist them with a successful start. Through the Newer Faculty Success series, we provide ongoing support for faculty as they navigate their first years at U of I.
Faculty Professional Development Support
The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) is dedicated to the success of all faculty, graduate students and academic programs. We provide faculty, course and curriculum development support for all faculty.
Faculty Gatherings
The University of Idaho Faculty Gathering is a monthly meeting for the purpose of supporting social relationships and intellectual interests. These get-togethers further the educational, intellectual and research work of U of I by providing time and space for faculty to meet informally to exchange ideas, promote mutual acquaintance and fellowship among faculty of the university so we can get to know each other outside of the departments and colleges.
Faculty Recognition
The University Excellence Awards are given to employees and graduate students who have shown dedication to U of I. Winners are recognized for their commitment to serving our institutions.
Academic Leadership Support
The Vice Provost for Faculty hosts several sessions throughout the academic year focused on topics related to unit and college administration. Department chairs, directors, associate deans and deans receive individualized invitations to these sessions. The sessions are relevant to topics related to faculty.
The Vice Provost for Faculty also hosts a monthly coffee hour to meet and discuss concerns of department chairs and directors. Individualized invitations are sent for this event.
University of Idaho has an institutional subscription to Academic Impressions, a professional development resource focuses on providing leadership, personal development, and skills-based training opportunities.
