Application and selection process:
Interested University of Idaho faculty, qualified professional staff and students (graduate and undergraduate) must complete an application packet and submit as a single PDF file — via email to jkuhl@uidaho.edu. A complete packet includes a cover page, detailed budget, summary (including the relevance of the proposed project to the current mission statement of the Stillinger Herbarium), a project narrative (not to exceed two pages), a project timeline (one page) and a brief CV/NSF style biographical sketch (two pages). Student applicants are eligible to be principal investigators, but must have a faculty member identified as a co-investigator, who is willing to mentor the student through the proposal and award process. If you have any questions about the application process or forms, please contact the Joseph Kuhl at jkuhl@uidaho.edu.
Applications will be accepted starting immediately with a deadline of Feb. 29 by 5 p.m. PT.
Applicants will be notified in early April, after they are reviewed and approved or declined. Funds will be awarded in late April.
The number of awards made is based on available funds and at the discretion of the Stillinger Administrative Committee, based on the merit of the project and its contribution to the current mission of the Stillinger Herbarium. Upon award, funds will be administered by the awarded department under the supervision of their college’s departmental grant administrator. When the project is complete, a final report must be submitted to the Office of Research and Economic Development.
