Dual Credit and Lifelong Learning
Learning is a lifelong ambition. In the department of Earth and Spatial Science we offer a range of courses and certificates that can be taken by anyone interested in enriching their lives through education, but who are not seeking a degree.
We offer courses via the University of Idaho Dual Credit program including:
- GEOG 165 Human Geography: International and Social and Behavioral Ways of Knowing. Intro to geographical dimension in human behavior and how this is evident in population distribution, rural and urban land use, and social, economic, and political attributes of societies.
- GEOG 100 and Lab Welcome to Planet Earth: Natural environment; nature, distribution, and relationships of climate, landforms, oceans, vegetation, hydrography, and soils. Three lectures and one 2-hour lab per week; may involve evening classes. Typically Offered: Fall, Spring.
- GEOL 101 and Lab Physical Geology: The earth, its composition, structure, and natural processes.
- GEOL 102 and Lab Historical Geology: Evolution of the physical earth, plants, and animals; techniques used in interpretation of geologic history.
