Academic Probation
If your transcript or degree audit indicates you are on academic probation, please know that we are here to help you get back on track. You will be notified by the Registrar and will have a registration hold placed on your account. This hold is in place until you are able to meet with an advisor and create a plan to move forward. Keep in mind that this hold will prevent you from dropping or withdrawing from courses as well as adding courses.
Be sure you meet with your advisor right away when you get the email indicating you are on probation. The sooner we can help, the easier it is to recover academically. The hold is removed once you meet with your advisor. Students on academic probation in the College of Science are required to:
- complete an academic plan
- schedule a meeting with their advisor to discuss academic options
- bring academic plan to the meeting with their advisor
Your advisor also may make referrals to Academic Support Programs, Mathematics Assistance Center, Writing Center or the Counseling and Mental Health Center, as examples of support services offered at the University of Idaho.
