    Residence Hall Association

    The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is a student-run organization that advocates for on-campus residents at University of Idaho, providing opportunities for leadership, programming and enhancing the overall student experience in the residence halls.

    Explore the exciting employment opportunities available through Housing and Residence Life at University of Idaho. Working as part of the Vandal Living team not only offers a chance to gain valuable professional experience but also allows you to make a positive impact within the campus community. You can assist with daily operations, support fellow students or develop leadership skills— all while you contribute to student life at U of I.

    Information Desk Attendant

    Information Desk Attendants provide high level customer service for students, staff and visitors. Desk attendants are responsible for mail distribution, issuing building access and helping residents with a wide variety of questions and concerns. Since Information Desk Attendant duties involve federal mail, confidential information and building security, it is important that procedures are followed and tasks are completed with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

    Residence Life Student Staff

    Resident Assistants (RA)

    Student staff members who help mentor and guide their peers in the residence halls. Resident Assistants do this by engaging in one-on-one interactions with each resident living on their floor, as well as facilitating and fostering community events specific to each floor’s needs and interests. By performing regular duty rounds, RAs promote a safe and supportive living environment where residents can succeed. RAs are a vital part of the residence hall community and serve as a bridge between students and professional staff members to ensure that all residents succeed personally and academically.

    Academic Peer Mentor

    High academic achieving student staff members living in the residence halls to support first year students through one-on-one conversations and engagement. APMs help first year students succeed as they transition from high school to college life. Additionally, Academic Peer Mentors provide tutoring and academic resources to all University of Idaho students in the Student Success Program, located in the basement of the Wallace Residence Center.

    Program Coordinator

    Student staff members responsible for overseeing the variety of activities happening in the residence halls each week. Program Coordinators do this by engaging in weekly activities in their building, as well as facilitating and fostering community events specific to each building’s needs and interests.

    As a Student Staff member, some weeks will be really busy, and other weeks may be less so. Being able to balance the role with academics and other activities is crucial. How do you balance your academic commitments with your personal activities? How do you plan to incorporate the student staff position into your current activities?
