Professional Engineering Review Course
University of Idaho Boise offers a Professional Engineering (PE) Review Course, Civil Engineering track. The course, delivered by subject experts, prepares you for the PE Exam.
If you are an engineer planning to take Idaho's PE Exam or simply want to update your skills and knowledge in the field of Civil Engineering, this course is for you.
2025 Course Dates
12 three-hour sessions on Thursdays from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m., running from January 16 (first session) 2025 through April 10 (last session, which is a 2-hr PE mock exam), 2025. There will be no meeting during the Boise school district's spring break.
Location
Classes will be held at the University of Idaho Water Center, 322 E. Front St, Boise, ID 83702 and we will livestream the course to others who wish to attend online via Zoom.
Summary
UI Boise has offered this 12-week Professional Engineering (PE) Review Course each spring for many years. Since April 2024, the design standards of PE exam differs among the engineering disciplines and candidates should be prepared for the engineering discipline they selected. The following table shows the topics our course covers and which pertain for each exam discipline. Students would attend the course with 1 below the Engineering discipline that they choose. For instance, candidates for the construction discipline would attend all lectures but Design and Analysis of traffic systems and operations.
Each three-hour session is delivered by subject experts. The subject are Test overview and introduction / Statics; Mechanics; Structural Analysis; Waste Water Systems; Design & Analysis of Traffic Systems and Operations; Design and Analysis of Transport Facilities Construction, Facilities and Surveying; Engineering Hydraulics; Engineering Hydrology; Construction; Geotechnical and Soil Mechanics; Construction of Soils Projects.

Free Retake Policy: If you complete the PE Review Course and do not pass the PE Exam, you may retake the course again the following year at no additional charge.
Subject experts have been selected from local industry, universities, and government. Organizations include University of Idaho-Boise College of Engineering, Idaho Transportation Department and The State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors.
