Outreach
From its founding, the Martin Institute has remained engaged in a variety of outreach activities.
The oldest continuing activity is the Martin Forum program, a series of lectures begun in 1999 to promote awareness of international issues. More recently, students affiliated with the Institute give the Distinction in International Service Award (DISA) to non-governmental organizations based in the Pacific Northwest which work internationally. Occasionally, area high school students work with the institute on their senior projects or similar endeavors.
Martin Institute faculty also serve as media contacts, and regularly participate on informational panels or in other speaking situations with service and other groups.
