Extension Collaborative on Immunization Teaching & Engagement (EXCITE)
The Extension Collaborative on Immunization Teaching & Engagement (EXCITE) serves all land-grant universities through engagement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Vaccinate with Confidence communication campaign and adult immunization education pilot projects.
EXCITE projects in Idaho began in May 2021 and will continue through June 2023. Activities are targeted at rural communities with limited access to healthcare and/or with a significant population of Hispanic agricultural workers to address health disparities among rural and underserved communities.
- 72 land-grant institutions representing all six regions of cooperative Extension received funding for Activity 1: Vaccinate with Confidence communication campaign.
- 24 land-grant institutions representing five regions of cooperative Extension were selected for funding in Activity 2: Adult Immunization Pilot Projects.
