Drone Liability Coverage

Drones owned by the university must be added to the State of Idaho aviation liability coverage. Request coverage by submitting the Drone Coverage Form.

• Aviation coverage is not automatic or included in the university’s general property or equipment coverage.
• You must request coverage when the drone is purchased and annually thereafter if the drone will be used on behalf of the university.

A drone owned by a third party flying on behalf of the university must provide a certificate of insurance that includes:

• The following as a Certificate Holder:
  
  • State of Idaho and the Regents of University of Idaho
    Attn: Risk Management UI-Risk@edu.idaho.gov
    875 Perimeter Drive, MS 2433
    Moscow, ID 83844-2433
• General Aviation or Aviation Liability
• Commercial general liability or commercial umbrella insurance with a limit of not less than $1,000,000 each occurrence and in the aggregate.
