Grad Committee

Each M.S. and Ph.D. student must have a graduate committee consisting of at least four faculty members. This committee must represent all three BCB disciplines (Biological Sciences, Computer Science, and Mathematical Sciences). The disciplines each BCB faculty member can represent are shown below.

Each committee must include at least three active BCB faculty members. You can find that list of faculty here. There is no explicit requirement for an “external” committee member, although they are allowed. Your major professor and graduate committee should be designated by the end of your first year in the BCB program. You can find the correct form on the College of Graduate Studies (COGS) website.
