Gary Austin has experience in public and private landscape architecture practice. He is the author of several peered reviewed journal articles, as well as two recent books: Constructed Wetlands for Sustainable Development (with Kongjian Yu, 2016), and Green Infrastructure for Landscape Planning: Integrating Natural and Human Systems (2014).

Gary Austin, has experience in public and private landscape architecture practice and is a licensed landscape architect in the state of Washington. He is the author (and co-author) of several peered reviewed journal articles including the Landscape Journal and two recent books: Constructed Wetlands for Sustainable Development (with Kongjian Yu, 2016). and Green Infrastructure for Landscape Planning: Integrating Natural and Human Systems (2014). Austin received his MLA degree from the California State University, Pomona. Through his scholarship and teaching he contributes extensively to the body of knowledge in green infrastructure and low impact design as components of landscape architectural process. Professor Austin has also contributed significantly to the development and delivery of the University of Idaho Landscape Architecture Study Abroad Program in Cremolino, Italy for over 13 years.
