Italy Landscape Architecture Program
Balance daylong landscape design workshops with field studies of Italy’s finest landscapes and gardens, museums and architecture.
The study abroad program is designed to provide an immersive experience of the Italian cultural landscape, by blending a general culture course with an urban theory module and a design studio.
Students of this program will reside in an historic hill town (summer 2017– Monferrato vineyards in northern Italy hill town of Cremolino; 2018 and 2019—central Italy Recanati hill town; 2022— Sperlonga fishing village in the Lazio region).
Here they will participate in daylong workshops that engage landscape design opportunities throughout the region and immerse themselves in Italian culture through group dinners featuring Italian cuisine demonstrations.
Field studies will explore the landscapes, gardens, and urban centers of Rome and the Lazio Region (the Roman Campagna), Naples and Capri, Florence, Siena and the Tuscany Region, Venice and Padua and the Veneto Region.
