State Capitol News Bureau

In partnership with the U of I McClure Center, our State Capitol News Bureau provides students with the opportunity to work as news reporters covering the Idaho Legislative Session and other events in Boise and at the State Capitol. Students join the Idaho Press Club and receive press credentials to use while reporting on issues of public policy.

Students work out of the Capitol Annex next door to the State Capitol, and get an up-close look at state government, whether they are following legislation, attending state committee meetings or interviewing lawmakers and constituents. Their news stories are published in weekly newspapers across Idaho newspapers and at our news service, Idaho Public Radio.
