National 4-H Congress

Held over the Thanksgiving Weekend (Thursday to Tuesday) in Atlanta, Georgia, the National 4-H Congress recognizes and promotes excellence in 4-H. Those attending enjoy workshops, cultural events, community service projects and sightseeing.

Delegates

Idaho usually sends five to 10 delegates. Applicants must have passed their 14th birthday, but not their 19th birthday, on Jan. 1 of the program year. They cannot have attended National 4-H Congress previously.

Costs

Funding may offset some costs, but delegates should expect to pay $600 to $900 depending on travel fees.

Application Process

Idaho's 4-H applicants must submit National 4-H Congress Applications through ZSuite. Online applications are available June 1-30.

Online interviews may be scheduled after applications are received. All applicants will be notified by the UI Extension 4-H Youth Development office in July whether their application has been accepted.
