U of I Foundation Services

UI Foundation Services leverages data to empower strategic decision-making. This team specializes in information technology solutions, research, reporting, prospect data management and enterprise project management. We extract valuable insights that inform organizational strategy and engagement efforts with internal and external stakeholders in support of the missions of University of Idaho and the UI Foundation.

Analytics and Reporting

UI Foundation Analytics and Reporting is key to a successful program rollout of new reports, data analysis and market research, and is central in democratizing data and championing the application of reporting and analysis tools. This team collaborates with end users to build data driven dashboards with drill down functionality to empower users to have real time data insights.

Information Technology

Prospect Management and Research

UI Foundation Prospect Management and Research is key to successful research on major gift prospects’ backgrounds, past giving histories, wealth indicators and giving motivations to evaluate their ability to give (capacity) and warmth (affinity) toward an organization. This team’s role also involves managing, tracking and reporting on an organization’s activity with its constituency and prospect pools, and making recommendations to positively influence fundraising and campaign activity.

  • Major gift, principal gift and planned giving modeling
  • Engagement and affinity scoring
  • Researching real estate, business relationships, securities and other philanthropy
  • Principal research and data verification
  • Managing prospect pools through batch screenings, developing policies, highlighting event participants and recognizing segment opportunities
  • Portfolio pipeline reviews and proactive prospecting and prospect lifecycle
  • Development officer assignments
  • Documenting research notes and importing research data to the CRM
  • Tracking principal gifts prospects movement
  • Contact report/proposal dissemination
  • Determine which grants are fundraising countable by CASE guidelines

  • Project management of UI Foundation special projects requiring cross unit collaboration
  • Maintaining project plans and large-scale project documentation
  • Managing and updating the UI Foundation Intranet
  • UI Foundation SharePoint, secured shared drive and OneDrive security settings
  • UI Foundation Services communications
  • Cultivating and maintaining positive vendor relationships

What Needed Changing?

  • A two-step process was previously required (1. Enter Activity report and Save 2. Add Activity Participation)

The change

  • Step 1 is the same (fill out the required fields). The previous 2nd step is now automatically added. The “owner” (upper right corner) is automatically added to the “Activity Participation” box upon saving via the 1st step.
